Brass (Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn)

1980–1986 - British Army
Band of the 1st Battalion Royal Green Jackets (became Normandy Band of the Royal Green Jackets).

Performances include Royal Tournament, Albert Hall, Wembley Stadium (Wembley Pageant), Buckingham Palace, Berlin Tattoo and numerous other tattoos, and concerts and festivals around the UK and overseas.

Served in UK, Northern Ireland, Falkland Islands, Germany, Denmark, Gibraltar, Kenya.
Also took part in a four man Green Jacket expedition (as the medic), retracing the route of Lawrence of Arabia through Jordan.

1989 – present day
Moved to NZ in January 1989.

Played in several big bands including bands fronted by Terry Gray, Rodger Fox, and Don Boyd.

Played in many "covers" pop/jazz groups with NZ musicians such as David Feehan, Frankie Stevens, Darren Watson, Jackie Clarke, Tina Cross, and Wayne Mason.

Have been in David Feehan’s band since 1992 with many performances in pubs, concerts, private functions including support act for Tom Jones, and radio broadcasts for RNZ.

Film/TV work includes War Stories (Our Mothers Never Told Us), Star Factory (Nick Tansley), Young Entertainers, and Showcase. Shows include Something Funny Happened on the Way to the Forum and 42nd Street.

Band of the Wellington & Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Have played in this Territorial Force band for since mid 1989. Finished service with band as Bandmaster.

Most recent work has been with Rodger Fox’s Wellington Jazz Orchestra, including playing on the WJO’s first (Tui Jazz Award winning) CD.

Currently tutoring at:

Scots College, Wellesley College, Marsden Collegiate, and St Marys. Have also taught at St Patricks College (Kilbirnie), Hutt Valley High School, Hutt Intermediate School, and Karori Normal School.
