Technical Development Camp

The Tottenham Hotspur Technical Development Camp is open to any interested football players and is led by Tottenham Hotspur’s Development coach whilst in New Zealand.

  • Tuesday 11 – Thursday 13 April 2023 (first week school holidays)
  • Based at Scots College or Te Whaea Astroturf (Hutchison Road, Newtown, Wellington) depending on ground conditions
  • 3x half day sessions 
  • 8:30am-12:30pm
  • Suits ages 10-14 (Years 6-9)
  • Spaces will be limited 
  • This is not for students already participating in the Tottenham Hotspur Global Player Development Programme.
  • There are no trials for this camp; however, this is for students already playing football at any level.

Players from outside of Wellington are welcome but will need to arrange their own transport and accommodation.

Overview

Day One:
Ronaldo Work
Players explore different ways to beat an opponent who is in front of you. During this session, players will practice and develop understanding of different techniques to manipulate the ball in a 1-v-1 scenario.

Zidane Work
Players identify the key methods of beating an opponent who is behind you. Explore a variety of techniques required when facing away from the goal in order to create space to create opportunity to play forward.

Day Two:
Brilliant Basics

Players practice a range of different passing techniques, passing receiving, and moving with/without the ball. Identify different passing techniques and explore the mechanics behind the execution of these movements. Overloads – 1v0, 2v1, 3v2, 4v3.

Day Three:
Goal Scoring and Finishing

Players explore and practice different finishing techniques. All players love scoring goals, and this session will provide a range of technical/tactical details to support the development of players goalscoring. Includes SSG (small sided games).

Costs:

$220 incl GST (2023)
This includes all coaching for 3 session programmes and a Nike training top.
