Tranzit Bus Bookings

The College organises a bus service through Tranzit that is exclusive to Scots College students.

Scots College uses Tranzit buses for the following routes:

  • Churton Park (AM/PM)
  • Station Road, Khandallah / Crofton Downs (AM)
  • Crofton Downs (PM)
  • Khandallah (AM/PM)
  • Island Bay (AM/PM)
  • Hutt Valley (AM/PM)

These services are exclusively available to Scots College students.

Students using these services must purchase a bus tag from the Uniform Shop. New and replacement bus tags cost $5 each.

Booking and Paying for Bus Travel: From Term 4 2026, all Tranzit bus travel is booked and paid for in the StudentRide App.

Fares, timetables, how to book, and FAQs are available on the Scots College bus page.

StudentRide App

StudentRide has been introduced to provide a safer, more efficient, and more flexible bus service experience for students and families. The platform improves communication, streamlines bookings, enhances student safeguarding, and provides parents with greater visibility of their child's journey.

To support the delivery of its Tranzit bus services, Scots College uses StudentRide to provide improved booking, tracking, and communication features for families.

Through StudentRide:

  • Parents must download the StudentRide app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and register their child and bus tag.
  • Parents can book and manage their child's bus travel directly through the app, supporting improved student safeguarding and transport management.
  • Students use their bus tag to swipe on and off the bus.
  • Bus booking and payments are to be made through the StudentRide App, and card payments in the app include a 3% card fee, added at checkout. For bookings over $300, a manual payment option without surcharge is available via a manual booking – email scotscollege@studentride.com.au.
  • Parents can access a range of features, including boarding notifications, live bus tracking once their child has boarded, delay notifications, and full route tracking.
  • A dedicated parent helpdesk is available for support via email at scotscollege@studentride.com.au or by phone on +64 4 887 8876.

Service Reviews and Route Adjustments

To ensure bus services continue to meet demand, routes, timetables, and the number of buses operating will be regularly reviewed and adjusted.

This may result in additional buses being allocated to high-demand routes during peak periods, such as the beginning of a term, and fewer buses operating during lower-demand periods, such as EOTC activities or end-of-year examination study leave.

All designated stops will continue to be serviced. However, some routes may be combined when demand is lower to avoid operating underutilised buses. This helps manage transport costs while also reducing carbon emissions.
