Netball
Netball is one of the fastest growing sporting programmes at Scots College, and is fortunate to have a diverse, highly qualified, and committed coaching group comprising of Ex-Professional Netballers, Representative coaches, College staff, and parents.
Our netball programme is for students from Years 5 to 13. Students in Year 5 to Year 8 compete in the Motu Kairangi competition. In the Senior School, teams from Years 9 to 13 play in the Netball Wellington Centre competition. Our students also have the opportunity to take part in traditional fixtures with schools around New Zealand.
Last year was a remarkable year for netball at Scots College, with highlights including our Premier netball team winning first place at the 2025 College Sport Wellington Division 1 Netball Senior Championships and taking first place at the College Sport Wellington Regional Secondary School League Division 2 championships. Our team also made it through to the NZ Secondary Schools Nationals, placing 9th in the country and improving on their finish of 13th in 2024. Alongside the team performances, two students were selected for the Aotearoa Māori Secondary Schools Netball Team, and one student was named as a non-travelling reserve for the Cook Islands U21 team, which competed at the 2025 Netball World Youth Cup in Gibraltar.
Special recognition goes to Director of Netball Ngarama Milner-Olsen, who was awarded Coach of the Year by the Netball Wellington Centre and Scots College.
Notable achievements in previous seasons include Zara Feaunati’s selection to the New Zealand Secondary Schools team in 2023, the Senior A Team’s Division 1 championship win, and multiple players representing Māori and Wellington age-group teams.
Netball at Scots College continues to grow from strength to strength, driven by talented players, exceptional coaching, and a passionate community.
