Future Focussed Learning
A Future Focussed Education in the Senior School
In the future students will face increasing globalisation and careers greatly affected by technological change. Scots is making changes to our Senior School to further improve student results better preparing them for life after school.
The changes include:
A new Year 11 programme, launched in 2019, that better prepares students for Years 12, 13 and their futures by focusing on rich learning and developing skills critical for the future work place.
From 2020 the Senior School will change to become co-educational welcoming girls in Years 11, 12 and 13.
As part of enhancing the educational experience at Scots, construction has begun on a new block, named the McKinnon Building. This building includes flexible learning environments that lend themselves to collaborative and individual study and teaching. New science and technology facilities and pastoral care areas for the girls. The McKinnon Building will be opened for the start of the 2020 school year.
The College has a proud 100 year history in education and this is an exciting new chapter for us. We have never been afraid to embrace change to ensure we prepare students for their futures and deliver a personalised and holistic education.
