Matt joined the Scots College staff in 2013 after accepting the role of Principal of Middle School.  Previous to this he was the Assistant Rector at Lindisfarne College in Hastings and has had extensive experience in both primary and secondary education both in New Zealand and in England where he taught for 2 years. 

Born and raised in Hawkes Bay and having taught from Year 1 through to Year 12 over his 20 year career, Matt is a passionate educator who strongly believes that the balance between academic, cultural, sporting and special character development is essential for establishing the vital skills needed to adapt to an ever increasing globalisation of learners.

Matt is married to Claire who is an early childhood educator and they have two young daughters. His interests include cooking, traveling, sports, camping and socialising with friends and family.
