Matt is the LAC Art and HOD of visual and senior arts. Before Scots, Matt worked for 7 years at Wellington College teaching a variety of courses including Art History, Media Studies, Technology and English. Matt originally comes from Vancouver Island, Canada.

Matt has done a variety of education-related endeavours in Aotearoa including curriculum development with NZQA, consultation work with the NZ Transport Authority, work with Te Kete Ipurangi (an NZ on-line teaching resource), art workshops with Te Papa, and co-chairing of the Wellington Art Teachers’ Association.

A father of three (Matteo, Odette, and Ira) doesn’t leave Matt much free time, but when his wife lets him, he can be found hunting down the occasional wave at Lyall Bay or getting out for a run.
