Collegian supporting the Ngaio Community

Scots is not shy when it comes to celebrating the achievements of students past and present. This pass weekend I was privileged to attend a milestone event in a collegian’s life. On Sunday 12th February Brett Reid (1996-2007) was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church; that’s the fancy way of saying he’s now Rev Brett.

Although based out of Ngaio Union Church on Kenya Street, Brett’s role isn’t limited inside the walls of a church building. He has been charged with listening to, connecting with, and serving the people of Ngaio. As a caring, creative, and empathetic person this is a role Brett is very well suited to.

The newly ordained Rev Brett Reid with College Chaplain Rev David Jackson

If you are around Ngaio why not welcome Brett to your neighbourhood. I’m sure he’d love to hear what’s up in your neighbourhood. And while you’ve got his attention, let him know how proud his old school is of him.

Mā koutou i te mahi o te Ariki,

Rev. Jackson
