Team Layout

Our Scots programme and team layout allows coaches to move players up and down throughout the season. This means if players are struggling with their performance, attitude, motivation we can drop a player down and move a deserving player up. This structure works very well to prepare our players for life outside of school. It allows them to keep standards nice and high and not let any complacency effect their performance throughout the season.

Junior Teams

The Football Club Year 7&8 programme runs in Terms 2 and 3 where our young players train on Thursday afternoons and play school fixtures throughout the school terms. These fixtures are mid-week games against other colleges. The Director of Football runs and oversees these sessions.

Scots have four junior teams: U15s A,B,C and D. Each of these four teams has a qualified coach and manager, who is a staff member of the College and can coordinate between the club and school.

U15A

Our U15A team had a very successful year in 2016. They went on to win the Wellington Premier Junior Grade making them the best junior team in Wellington.

Senior Teams

Players moving up from the junior team and developement squads have the opportunity to play for the College’s top three teams: 1st 2nd and 3rd XI. Players in this age group will have the opportunity to play both school and club football with good management from players and coaching staff.

1ST XI

The Scots College 1st XI Team placed 3rd in the College Sport Wellington Premier Youth Championship in 2016 and has placed in the Top 10 nationally for both the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Therefore they are currently placed in the top 10 secondary school 1st XI teams in the country.
