National & International Football Football Club Associations

Scots College Football Club has ties with the following football clubs and encourages players at an advanced or elite skill level to play both college and club football with good management from players and coaching staff.

University of Wollongong

Scots College and the University of Wollongong and its UOW Tottenham Hotspur Global Football Program established a memorandum of understanding in 2020 that offers an additional pathway and support for students wishing to follow their football dreams while undertaking tertiary study. In particular this is a great opportunity for students who are interested in continuing their football at all levels, with access to professional standard coaching alongside their tertiary study at one of the world’s best universities. Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur and Scots College announced a partnership in 2020 that will allow young footballers, female and male, to learn from this world leading Football Club. From 2021 Tottenham Hotspur’s global football development team will work alongside the College’s own football coaches, using renowned methods taken directly from the Tottenham Hotspur Academy to maximise the potential of young players. Team Wellington

Team Wellington is a well-recognised and respected club who are based out of the capital city, Wellington. Team Wellington are currently the New Zealand Stirling Sports premiership champions and also compete in the OFC champions league where they have the chance to play at the club world cup.

Wellington Phoenix

Wellington Phoenix play their football in the A league which is based in Australia. Wellington Phoenix are New Zealand’s only pro club, which is great for our country and our young players. Scots has a very good relationship with the Phoenix and it is a great stepping-stone for our more advanced and elite Scots players.

US Scholarship

Scots College have a very good link with US Colleges; this is a fantastic pathway for young players after they leave Scots College and Footschool to carry on their studies at a high level and also play football within the US College system.

San Jose Earthquakes

The San Jose Earthquakes is a very well-known pro football club in the MLS. Scots College has a link with the San Jose Earthquakes which allows our more elite players to be scouted or drafted from their US Colleges or direct from Scots College and signed on pro contracts. MLS attracts some of the best players in the world including David Beckham, Steven Gerard, Robbie Keane, Theirry Henry. MLS is now classed as one the best leagues in the world.
