Managing Problematic Online Gaming

With increasing recognition of gaming addiction as a mental health condition and growing numbers of young people affected by it, it is critical to understand the psychological factors that lead them to play games excessively or addictively. Learn to identify some of the signs and symptoms of gaming addiction, some of the key risk factors that are particularly significant in relation to young people and ways to better prevent and manage problematic gaming.

This video resource is made available by Generation Next.  They provide education and information about the prevention and management of mental illness in youth to professionals, young people and the wider community. Their objective is to raise community awareness of mental illness through increasing mental health literacy, reducing associated sigma and positively influencing individual and community behaviour to improve the mental health of young people.
