Scots College Production

25-27 June, 2020

This year we will be staging The Addams Family. This is a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents. This is a musical in the true sense of the word so you will need to enjoy singing and moving, either in a group or on your own.

The musical has lead roles, some smaller roles, and an ensemble group. Audition enrolments are invited from students in Years 7 – 13. Our cast will all act, sing and dance. No previous experience is required BUT we’re looking for talent, potential, enthusiasm, team-work and commitment. To audition the enrolment form MUST be completed and returned to Ian Leslie ( Hard copies are welcome, and can be left at reception with Mrs Bolton, or in Mr Leslie’s office no later than FRIDAY 14/02.  No form, no audition.

Arrangements for the auditions are as follows:

Week 4:

  • Monday (18/02) lunch.
  • Tuesday (19/02) lunch.

If required, more auditions will be held in Tuesday after school.
Call backs (if needed) will take place at lunch, on Friday (21/02)

These auditions will be held in MR2. If you wish to be in the ensemble, please register your interest now as there will be further, separate auditions for the ensemble in Week 5.

Students who are selected for the cast will need to commit to every rehearsal, show and pack-out as outlined below. We have only eight full cast rehearsals to pull this show together so it is not possible to cast students who will be absent from rehearsals. View the production and rehearsal schedule here.

Please be aware that in our last two productions we have cast ‘all-comers’. This show, by necessity, will have a smaller cast so some students who audition will miss out and we realise that this may be disappointing. The outcome of the auditions will be emailed within a few days of the auditions.

View and download your audition form here. Please ensure you read all of the following information before applying
