Old Boys President honoured
Old Boys President, Nigel Gould has been honoured by the Queen in the 2010 Queen's Birthday Honours List.
The Wellington daily newspaper, The Dominion Post, recorded the award as follows:
"Nigel Gould, the man who oversaw the creation of Centreport, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of New Zealand.
"Mr Gould, a chartered accountant, was chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board for nine years before it became Centreport, where he remained chairman for another two decades until 2008.
"A keen sailing enthusiast, Mr Gould also served on the Massey University Council for a decade, including six years as chancellor, and was instrumental in its merger with Wellington Polytechnic.
"A former president of both the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce and the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Massey University earlier this year for services to tertiary education and the Wellington commercial sector."
