Information Board to be unveiled at Stellin Memorial

James K Stellin

Nearly three years after the unveiling of the Memorial plaque commemorating the heroic action of Scots Old Boy James K Stellin in France in 1944 we are poised to unveil an information board which will detail his exploits for visitors to the Memorial.

SCOBA has worked closely with Wellington City Council to ensure the sacrifical act of a young man, far from his home in New Zealand, is never forgotten in his home town.

The full story of James Stellin’s bravery is set out in the Achievers Section of this website.

The unveiling ceremony will be held at the Memorial on Tuesday 23 March 2010 at 3.30 p.m.

A full turnout of dignitaries from the City, the diplomatic community, the armed forces, the Royal NZ Returned Services Association, Scots College, Queen Margaret College and SCOBA will be present.
