Jordan Cooper (2009) has won an international soccer scholarship to Fairleigh Dickinson University NCAA Division 1 in New Jersey USA.

Fairleigh Dickinson University men's coach Seth Roland has announced four additional newcomers for the fall season.

Jordan Cooper (Wellington, New Zealand), Nicholas Walker (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad), Karlis Putans (Riga, Latvia), and James McPeake (Wellington, New Zealand) join the previously released group of 12 for the upcoming season.

"These four student-athletes are a great addition to our program and, along with the other dozen, will provide a strong foundation for the future of FDU soccer," Roland said.

Cooper is a 6-1, 175-pound forward/midfielder who was the leading scorer and team MVP for his high school, Scots College. In addition, he played for the New Zealand Secondary Schools U-15 National Team.

"Jordan is an eager and highly motivated young man," Roland said. "His athleticism will make him a handful for opponents to contend with at both the forward and wide midfield positions."

Walker is a 6-2, 170-pound defender who played for the Trinidad and Tobago Under-20 and U-23 National Teams.

"Nicholas is an extremely athletic defender with a wealth of experience at the national team level for Trinidad and Tobago," Roland said. "We are looking for him to be a real presence in the back for FDU."

Putans, a 6-5, 205-pound defender, played on the Latvia U-19 National Team and has three years of eligibility remaining after transferring from the University of Latvia.

"Karlis is a savvy defender who can dominate in the air," Roland said. "He reads the game well from his center back position, and is a threat on set-pieces."

McPeake is a 6-4, 190-pound goalkeeper from Hutt International Boys School. He is a member of the New Zealand U-20 National Team and U-19 National Schoolboys Team.

"James is an outstanding young goalkeeper who has the potential to blossom into a top shot-stopper at the Division I level," Roland said.
