Life Saving 2009

Life Saving 2009

Scots College is the only college in Wellington to offer the Royal Life Saving Programme and it was great to see a talented group of year 9 boys join the squad this year. Four seniors spent many hours passing on the experience they have gained over the past 3 years of Life Saving. Along with weekly early morning pool sessions, the boys were put through their paces in First Aid with sessions run by the school nurse and also attended theory sessions during lunchtimes. During Term 3, the more senior boys successfully gained their Comprehensive First Aid Certificates in a 2 day course run by St John’s.

A total of 15 boys gained Royal Life Saving Society New Zealand awards.
