Two years ago, Steven Adams could hardly read or write, wagging school to hang out in Rotorua. Now he's a basketball prodigy heading to the United States on a scholarship.
Adams is on the verge of making the world's top basketball competition, the NBA, after being offered a scholarship at Pittsburgh University.
But to get in, he has to pass the entrance exam, so he's studying at Scots College in Wellington with the hope he can play the game he loves for a living.
