Headmaster Graeme Yule was at the game and said, “This game caps off a fine season for the 1st XI.  These boys have been very competitive since they won the Wellington junior Gillette competition in Year 9 and finished 5th in NZ.  Locally they have been dominant recently.  Wellington College have also had a fine season and were in good form coming into this fixture.”

“This is an outstanding result and I’m incredibly proud of the boys.  It was great to see so many Old Boys at the game today showing their support as well.  The boys dedicated their win to Manager Shayne Hodge whose birthday it was today and to the memory of the late Mr Andrew Hughes, a teacher at the College who sadly passed away earlier this week,” confirmed Yule.

“This win is a tribute to the boys’ determination and hard work, and the vision and expertise of coach Christie Van Dyk. With our new world-class indoor cricket training facility, the Hodge Sports Centre, fully operational in 2012, I’m looking forward to seeing cricket at Scots go from strength to strength,” said Yule.
