Scots College's Pursuit of Excellence Reflected on ERO Report
Recently the Education Review Office (ERO) carried out its three yearly review of the College.
We are pleased with this exceptional report, which is testament to the high quality holistic education offered at the College.
Notable observations made by the ERO:
A very positive tone in and out of the classroom promotes engagement and learning for all students. They strongly affirm the support received from their senior peers and staff, and the opportunities and facilities available.
Interactions involving teachers and students are positive, affirming and mutually respectful. Students feel emotionally safe and encouraged to learn.
Curriculum development has resulted in increased resources being allocated to professional development of staff.
Students at the College have many opportunities to develop their potential in the areas of academia, sport, culture, service and spirituality. Programmes in and out of the classroom promote academic excellence, individual growth and the development of self directed learners. The importance of service to the College and others reflects the special character that underpins school practices.
Schoolwide there are high expectations for work and achievement. Students are invariably enthusiastic and consistently on task learners.
Gibb House – relationships within the house and with the school effectively promote a safe emotional environment that supports boarder’s learning. Students express high levels of satisfaction with boarding house life.
International students – Scots College provides international students with high level care and education.
