Prep School 1st XI Hockey v Medbury
Half time score: 2-1 Scots, Full time score: 3-1 Scots
Goal Scorers: Jaylin Dayal (3) ie a hat trick
We had our last home game before the end of the season and we wanted to finish on a high note. After a getting a good feel for the turf we were rearing to go.
Medbury started off with possession and we fought hard to get it back. We were consistently on attack, however there defence proved to be very solid and hard to get through. After a hard struggle we were rewarded with Jaylin Dayal scoring a brilliant goal using his reverse stick skills.
We were now lifted and determined to score again. We played hard and once again Jaylin took a great shot into the bottom corner. Unfortunately they were able to claim goal back just before half time making the score 2-1 to Scots College.
After a refreshing drink we took the field ready to go. The game was played mostly in their defensive end of the field. Jaylin was able to score a hat trick by converting another reverse stick goal. We were under lots of pressure in the last few minutes, however were able to apply our defence plan and hold them off till the end.
All in all it was a great last home game and know that we gave it our best. Hopefully we can have the same kind of result for our last three Auckland games.
