The weather didn’t turn out as planned with rain and clouds dominating the sky, but this didn’t stop the Scots Middle School boys from competing hard in their chosen events.  This also didn’t stop Tom Caughley from breaking the Scots U14 3,000 metre record in a time of 9.52.7, eclipsing the old record held by NR Wilson (10.06.8 – 2004).

In the high jump, Sam Pinson leaped 1.90m for a new Senior boys high jump record and Kieron McDonald ran 4:09.5 for a new 1500m record.

In the under 14 category Ho Lee (Y10) and Tom Caughley (Y10) shared first place, with Billy Proctor (Y9) taking third. The under 15 category was a tight battle throughout the day but in the end James Fletcher (Y11) took first place by one point to Alec Cannons (Y10), with Jack Belchambers (Y10) close behind in third.   Points are:

U14 Champions - Ho Lee and Tom Caughley (34 points each), U15 Champion James Fletcher (21 points), U16 Champion - TJ Va'a (38 Points), Senior Champions - Tim Rowe and Nathan Tse (24 points each)

The highlight of the day would have to be the relays held at the conclusion of the day’s programme.

In Year 9 Smith House took Honours with Billy Proctor running the final leg and in Year 10 Mawson House managed a fine win in a closely fought battle.

The level of commitment was pleasing with all boys competing hard for their House.
