Fantastic performance for Scots College in Dragon Boating finals
After being postponed for a week due to the tsunami last Sunday, the Scots College A and B Dragon Boat teams finally got to compete on Sunday the 7th March.
The A and B teams competed against each other in the semi-finals – with the B team narrowly beating the A team. Both teams made it through to the Grand final – along with HIBS 1 and Wellington College Seniors. The Grand Final was exciting, but HIBS proved too strong coming first - a third of a boat length ahead of Scots A, who came 2nd with a time of 1:17:91. Scots B came in third (1:18:71). It was a fantastic achievement for both teams, especially considering that in 2009, Scots came 5th in the Grand Final. Many thanks go to Peter Whiting and Phil Smith for coaching and sweeping the boats and Miss Lewis, Mrs Edwards and Ms Milne for managing the teams. WELL DONE!
