Commerce Appointment
Dear Parents/Caregivers
I am writing to inform you that the College has made an appointment to replace Mr Mukesh Ram who leaves us at the end of term 2.
From the start of term 3 Mrs Shahira Popat will take over as Learning Area Co-ordinator for Commerce and HOD Economics and Accounting. Mrs Popat is English and has previously taught at Glendowie College in Auckland, Kings College in Auckland and Auckland Grammar School where she was HOD Accounting and Business Studies. While at Auckland Grammar School she was awarded the Friedlander award for excellence in curriculum leadership. Mrs Popat has a variety of experience teaching NCEA to Scholarship as well as international experience in the Cambridge system. She is currently an HOD at an international school in the Middle East and is attracted by the IB curriculum. Outside the classroom she has been involved in Tennis, football and the Young Enterprise Scheme.
In discussions with Mr Ram he has been touched by those of you who have contacted him to wish him well for his return to Auckland.
