2011 NCEA Results for Scots College Students
Level 1 NCEA
The highlight of our 2011 NCEA results were our Year 11’s Level 1 results. The overall pass rate of 99% was 10% above our 10 year average and was the highest figure in the College’s history. The level of endorsements (73%) was also a record for the College and nearly 3 times the national average.
Level 2 NCEA
Equally impressive were our Year 12’s Level 2 results which despite the absence of a number of top candidates who chose to sit the alternative IB Diploma qualification, was again a record with a 97% pass rate compared with our 10 year average of 92%. The level of endorsements was again affected by the absence of IB candidates, but was notable for the increase in excellence endorsements from 3 to 12% over the previous year to be in line with pre IB levels.
Level 3 NCEA
At Level 3 we saw the impact of the IB cohort for the first time with the pass rate falling to 82% against a 10 year average of 84%, however there are a number of candidates who we expect will pick up credits and improve this. As expected the endorsement rates fell as well. The preliminary figure for those achieving UE was 86%.
Overall the College is exceptionally pleased with these results which reflect the hard work by many staff and students. We now look forward to our Scholarship results.
*Please note the figures stated above are these are preliminary figures only, and will improve as students check grades, re-sit standards and seek re- marks.
