Let your dreams take flight with the show that taught us to believe
JM Barrie
Peter Pan
Bursting with fantasy, adventure, music, pirates, Indians, lost boys and pixie dust, for Scots College Term 3 2009 flew by in the magical world of ‘Peter Pan’. Fantastic adventures awaited Wendy and her brothers when Peter Pan, the hero of their stories, whisked them away to the magical world of Neverland. After following Peter and Tinker Bell past “the second star to the right and straight on ‘til morning,” they explored the island and Peter’s secret hideout with the rambunctious Lost Boys, and leap into high flying battles with the infamous Captain Hook!
The 2009 College Production of Peter Pan involved the whole school of 300 prep boys and 50 secondary boys and played four shows to full capacity audiences. We were also joined by 6 very talented young women from QMC. It uncovered considerable musical talent among the boys and the exceptionally high standard of singing and acting was a credit to the individuals concerned. The whole staff contributed in so many ways and it was a real team effort. Many parents and staff members spent hours designing and sewing the spectacular costumes. The band was a mixture of secondary students, Mr Andrew Tate and the master of the keyboard Mr Stephen Rowley. They added their special touch to the performance.
