Learning Facilities
Graphics Suite
The Graphics Suite is a laboratory equipped with computers with a full complement of drafting tables and equipment where students hone their skills on traditional drafting, rendering and illustration which leads to engineering, architectural, and graphic design.
Technology Suite
The Technology Suite is a practical workshop environment where students work at their own pace and develop self-discipline as they complete projects. ‘Learning by doing’, ‘trial and error’ and making prototypes are strongly encouraged. Through the facilities in the Technology Suite, a number of boys have helped build items for school activities, including the school production, Scots Gala, science fairs, personal hobbies and inevitably parts for cars and motor-bikes!
Science Block
The Science Wing was officially opened by Nobel Laureate, Sir Paul Nurse on 4 August 2006. Each of the four Laboratories are 100m2 with dedicated wet and dry areas. Each Lab is fitted out with State-of-the-Art technology, audio, and visual systems that provide networked high speed internet and intranet connections, high quality DVD and CD provision plus other features which set this facility apart. Bright and practical spaces have been acoustically engineered to minimise noise. Supported by prep and store rooms these laboratories are both innovative enough to inspire yet practical and robust to encourage independent learning for students of all ages.
Linked at the first floor are two senior Physics laboratories which bring the number of Science teaching areas to six.
Lesley Shelly Lecture Theatre
The Lesley Shelly Lecture Theatre is spacious conference room that can comfortably seat 112. It has a built-in sound system, LCD projector and whiteboard.
