Hodge Sports Centre
Sport is a key part of the Scots College experience. The Hodge Sports Centre will elevate the sporting potential for the College, providing a spectacular world-class indoor facility in which sporting skills can be honed and future sporting dreams realised, allowing sports programmes to continue irrespective of weather. The College has many talented young sportsmen and this facility will enable Scots to nurture this.
This stunning new Sports Centre is at the forefront of building technology, constructed out of translucent polycarbonate sheeting, allowing a high level of diffused natural light and thermal insulation, with timber beams to support the structure. Specialised cricketing turf covers the entire playing surface. There will also be a new clay practice wicket in the playing field.
Inside there is a four lane cricket practice facility with retractable nets allowing for multi-sport use at any one time, and expansion of the training area to utilise the entire playing space. The Centre not only encloses the current outdoor cricket practice area but provides an indoor facility to benefit other sports including rugby, football and hockey. PE classes also make use of this purpose built facility that doubles the indoor sport space available, and all boys at the College will benefit from having a top class facility at the College.

"Cricket Wellington believes this is one of New Zealand’s greatest indoor cricket projects. Undoubtedly in my mind the development of cricket is absolutely foremost here, and sportsmen generally are going to receive great benefits out of this project."

"Scots College develops you as a man academically, culturally and sporting-wise and why I’m the person I’ve turned into. For the College to have the Creative and Performing Arts Centre and Covered Sports Centre will be a huge asset and I can only imagine what these facilities can do for your boys in the future."
